據歐盟食品安全局（EFSA）消息，2月10日歐盟食品安全局就右旋糖酐鐵作為仔豬飼料添加劑的安全性與效能發布意見。
這種添加劑的名稱為“右旋糖酐鐵10%”，是一種含有右旋糖酐鐵（25%，總鐵含量為10%）、氯化鈉（1.5%）、苯酚（0.4%）、水（73.1%）的液劑。“右旋糖酐鐵10%”飼料添加劑用于哺乳仔豬已被證明是安全的。然而它對缺乏維生素E或和硒的仔豬構成風險。
歐盟專家組認為，按照條件，哺乳仔豬口服這種添加劑不會對消費者的健康以及環境產生影響。專家組對于右旋糖酐用于這種添加劑提出建議，還對這種添加劑用于仔豬的操作規程提出建議。
