據歐盟網站消息，8月25日歐盟發布法規（EU）2015/1426，批準一種苯甲酸、百里香酚、丁香油酚和胡椒堿制劑作為雞育肥和產蛋、小型禽類育肥和產蛋的飼料添加劑使用。
這種制劑在添加劑種類上屬于“畜牧添加劑”，功能組上屬于“其他畜牧添加劑”。添加劑和預混合物的使用說明中應標出貯藏條件和造粒過程中的穩定性，不應與其他來源的苯甲酸或苯甲酸酯混合使用，使用時應注意防護。

The European Food Safety Authority （‘the Authority’） concluded in its opinions of 7 March 2012 （2） and 28 October 2014 （3） that, under the proposed conditions of use, the preparation of benzoic acid, thymol, eugenol and piperine does not have an adverse effect on animal health, human health or the environment, and that it has a potential to improve feed to gain ratio in chickens for fattening. It also considered that this conclusion could be extended to chickens reared for laying. Since the mode of action can be assumed to be the same in all poultry species, this conclusion can be extrapolated to include the minor poultry species for fattening and reared for laying. The Authority does not consider that there is a need for specific requirements of post-market monitoring. It also verified the report on the method of analysis of the feed additive in feed submitted by the Reference Laboratory set up by Regulation （EC） No 1831/2003.
